Blackwell Vase
Moorcroft Blackwell Vase
Designer: Nicola Slaney
Height: 11"
From the Art Nouveau inspired Blackwell collection in 2008
Completed in 1901, Blackwell is a large Arts and Crafts house overlooking Lake Windermere. Designed by architect, Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott, it was built as a holiday home for Sir Edward Holt, a wealthy Manchester brewer. This vase, with its rich colors, actually owes its existence to a small detail on a Blackwell Fire Dog circa 1900, made with wrought iron and enamel.
